Best Friend

This past week has been filled with errands and finding fun things to do with cousins and playing outside. Heaths brother josh has been remodeling a house and Heath has been helping on it when he had the chance so the boys and I packed up one day to go play over there and to see daddy! As we are in the car driving over I told Arland that we were going to play with his cousin Adie ( he loves her) and he got excited and started shouting "I love adie!" Then I told him, " arland did you know that Adie is going to have a baby brother just like you have baby brother Porter?!" He paused for a second and then said " ya I love Porter, he my BEST FRIEND." I Had to turn around and ask him, "what did you say?!" And he said it again "Porter my best friend." I was so happy I could cry. Ever since I found out I was pregnant with Porter I hoped that they would stay close through all their years. I was so happy that Arland would have a brother close to him. Someone to be "best friends" with. This little moment made my heart flutter with happiness! I truly love these boys more then they will ever know and I am so happy that for now they are "Best Friends."

My loves

Today we made our way over to the doctor. It was a pretty breezy visit though, no shots for Arland and Porter got a booster shot. So minimal tears were present.

ARLAND: 28 lbs (15%) and (60%) for height! This is fantastic because he never even makes the chart in his weight but the doc said that is just the way he is built tall and skinny! (Lucky him)

PORTER: 15.10 lbs (2% birth) and (20% birth) height! My little premie is catching up to the big kids now and I am so happy about this! He is LOVING food ( all kinds) right now and eats constantly! His development is perfect and right where he should be. He wants to crawl so bad and is so close! But he can sit up and he growls at you when he wants something, and he is loud!
Oh and we rode the train after at the mall because this little boy LOVES trains. Notice the conductors hat!

three

You see I have this love/hate relationship with birthdays. He isn't 1 or 2 any more he is 3! When they are 1 and 2 they are still babies. They are learning to walk, talk. They have to still be rocked to sleep at times.  When they turn 3 they are no longer baby..... He is now a little boy. So you see when birthdays roll around I get so sad that all their "baby" moments are going so fast. On the other hand I love who Arland is right now. He is funny, smart, snuggly. He is caring and thoughtful "momma you fine?" He is sassy " momma I NO do that!" He is ready for adventure "momma I ready!" He is loving.

For Arlands birthday he awoke to a choo choo track outside his room! He was thrilled! Then we had birthday pancakes with sprinkles and then daddy took Arland swimming at the pool. After that they went to Mcdonalds and played! He was exhausted after that! So home it was and he spent the next 3 hours taking a much needed nap before his guests arrived. When Arland woke up he had a fun choo choo outfit to put on from Great Grandma Jepsen! He LOVED it! Then his guests arrived. Trevor, Chelsee and Flynn.  Josh, Whitney and Adie. Great grandma Pulham. Jason, Melissa, Charlee and baby Ruby. Grandpa and Grandma Neubert with Aunt Sophie and uncle Noah. And our cute neighbors Kaitlyn and Maycee. We had so many fun people here and you loved playing with all your friends.

Happy number 3 my sweet boy.

The Dentist

Oh yes it is now time. Time for arland to take a friendly trip to his friend the Dentist. We rushed there this morning because I always push appt to the (very.last.minute) anyway. We got there and they showed arland to a chair where they would take his xray and wasn't having it. So forget that the dental hygienist said and moved him onto the chair where they would clean his teeth. He climed on the chair and laid down watching tv while they cleaned his teeth, he did great! He even let the dentist look in his mouth! No cavities and his teeth looked great!

The littles

Arland,
Where do I start you have a few sayings that you say over and over. "Mom you ok? I'm fine mama I fine"
When I ask you to do something: "NO I NOT!"
When you are talking to Porter: "I know Porta I know Porta"
"Mom I hungy!" And then you pretend burp after that.
Kiddo you make me laugh!
Arland you are also fully potty trained now! Woohoo! It is the BEST! You also LOVE  planes, cars and of course your all time favorite is trains! You love to take pictures and pretend cook. You LOVE to go to bed! ( luckiest mom right here) you say " mom I go home my bed" when you get tired. We love you little guy! You brighten my day and keep us laughing!
Porter,
Happiest person ever right here, you rarely make a fuss and you are constantly smiling! You are my joy baby and keep us on our toes! You love to just watch everyone and be apart of the crowd, quiet as a mouse! Grandpa Dave said that you are just like auntie Emm. Quiet and content. The past couple weeks you have been really sick, double ear infection and pneumonia. After trips back and forth to the doctors we finally got you some medicine and now you are just peachy! I hated seeing you so sick. Now you are back to your old self, after a trip to the emergency room and several doctors we are just glad that your happy self is back! We love you porter and are so happy we can call you our little peanut.

Kiddies

Porter,
I can't believe that you are 8 almost 9 months! Where has time gone...seriously! I hold on to the fact that you are really like 6 months so that means that I get an "extra" 3 months with you being my baby! Christmas has come and gone and now we are all sick in our house, you especially, I took you to the doctor and they said that you may have RSV. I am hoping and praying not, I am trying everything in my power to keep you safe and taken care of. That means humidifier, ibuprofen, Tylenol, some doterra oils and LOTS of lovin! It's hardest when you sleep, you and I were up till 3 am last night and then you threw up everywhere. I just hope you feel better soon. You are so happy though through it all. You started sitting up by your self! CRAZY! And you are such a jibber jabber! You started some solid foods (rice cereal) but you LOVE your bottle. You are also the best sleeper still too! At night Arland says his prayers that Porters lungs will stay strong, feel better porter bug. We love you so much!

Arland,
Bundle of energy! That explains you right now! You love to wrestle and play chasing games. Last night daddy got home and you wrestled him in the bed for a couple hours! You kept saying "daddy get me!" And "daddy I'm fine" haha we were laughin forever about you and how much you have changed. It seams not that long ago that we were getting to know each other again, you wouldn't speak or eat. I knew you felt confused and alone. But now you love to play and talk and explore. You are my bundle of energy! Love you smart boy!

Christmas

As I sit here on this Christmas Day while Arland is playing with his new toy kitchen I want to document our memories together. This was our first Christmas with Porter and it was so wonderful and magical for our family. Arland has been talking about Santa since thanksgiving and our Christmas did not disappoint. Heath and I wanted to do everything possible to make this Christmas extra special, we had a family activity every day, some bigger then others. We went to see Santa and to a movie, played in the snow, made ginger bread houses. We did everything! This morning arland woke up and grandma and pa Neubert came over to see Arland come out of his room to see what Santa brought him. There was a giant teepee in our living room! He ran right for the teepee and played hiding, he got a flashlight and lots of books, and loved helping Porter open presents. Then we went to grandma and grandpa Pulhams where we celebrated Christmas in their new house! We chatted, played and had a giant Christmas breakfast! Arland LOVES his cousins so it was just fun to be together with all of our family! Then we went to grandma and pa Neuberts where we talked to auntie umm ( sister neubert)! She is just so happy serving a mission for the LDS church. She really is the happiest she has ever been and loves what she is doing. It was so hard to say goodbye we miss her so much but are so proud of her! We then opened presents! I seriously cannot express how tallented my mother is! She gave me shadow boxes of my boys blessing outfits! I started bawling! Heath got new lights for the outside of our house! Arland got a play kitchen, it was a WONDERFUL Christmas! Now I am sitting in the basement watching Disney movies with my Arland while me sweet baby Porter and the rest of my family sleep. So much to be thankful for this year, my children are healthy happy, and growing! Heath is such a hard worker and so supportive. My little family has been through so much this year and I couldn't be more thankful for the guardian angels I have in my life. The ones living and the ones on the other side. I truly know that with out a doubt Heavenly Father has watched over my family and guided me to amazing people to take care of my Porter being born and Arland while I was away. It was such an amazing and beautiful 2013, I will always remember those that came into my life this year, and those we love that left us this year. Merry Christmas!
